Banquet at Fontenelle

Emphasizes Patriotism of Order
in Principal Speach

    More than 200 fourth degree Knights of Columbus and their wives attended the banquet at the Fontenelle Hotel last night in honor of the 121 candidates exemplified into the order yesterday.
    The Hon. James C. O'Brien, F. N. of the LaSalle Assembly, Chicago, was the principal speaker. Mr. O'Brien briefly outlined the progress made by the order in growth of membership and emphasized the patriotic obligation of each member.
    "Our obligation has made great strides in membership growth." he said, "and is composed of men who realize their patriotic duty, and are intent upon the betterment of the country's welfare."
    "As loyal knights, we realize that Americans must stand together, shoulder to shoulder to protect our country from foreign invaders and agitators. As knights, we can be relied upon to defend our country."
    Other out of town speakers were: Thomas Flynn of the LaSalle assembly, Chicago; W.J. McNichols, State Deputy, Lexington; and George F. Corcoran of York, Master of Fourth Degree who resided as toastmaster.
